Why You Should Buy a Wholesale Tire

Why Not?

Wholesale tires are less expensive than retail tires. The difference between wholesale and retail is that retail is for the consumer. A business buys a large amount of tires at a wholesale price (meaning a cheaper price) and sells them for more to a consumer at a retail price, usually for more money.

There are two ways to take advantage from wholesale prices. One, become a tire dealer. If you are in the auto business already, research what it takes to get a license to re-sell tires. The ball is then in your court. Not only will you get discounted tires but you have the choice to sell them for more or cut others a deal and let them reap the benefits as well. In many situations there is a tax break when you buy wholesale, but the license costs money to get so it may just even out in the end.

The 2nd option is to find a dealer online or in the community that offers tires at wholesale prices. As a business owner this doesn't make a lot of sense given that the profit margin may be slim to zero, but many times people just need to get the tires off their hands. They are willing to sell it a super discounted price to do so. Just because you are buying a tire wholesale, doesn't mean you have to skimp on quality. There are just as many brands selling wholesale as there are selling retail.

Where to Find Them

Usually companies selling these types of tires are discount tire centers and online shops. It costs a lot less to operate a business from a home and not pay rent for an actual shop. Don't just go with the first Joe Schmoe you find online. Make sure the website and company are reputable and always search for a transaction that will offer free shipping over a certain price. See what brands are offered and don't settle for less. There is always a surplus of tires out there, which means wholesale deals are the way to go. Many of the places that operate online have warehouses full of tires and are able to offer crazy blow out deals. It's best to make a list of 5-7 possible places then call each for a tire price. Another option is purchase used tires or even military tires to save money and help cut down on pollution.
