It's The Little Things In Life....

It's dark out and you just ran over a nail and popped your tire. You hope that it's not completely busted but the bumpy feeling and wheezing air sound is telling you different. There is no other option but to pull other before you damage more than just the tire. If you forgot to pay you're AAA bill and are stuck changing the tire on your own, it is the little things that will help not make your bad luck a miserable event. Have a flashlight in your car! Yes, a tiny flashlight will be the saving grace to your night. With the flashlight you can locate the wheel lock and other tools needed to get you on way again. Car flashlights can be bought anywhere and they don't have to full-size, just as along as they give a good amount of light. LED lights give a great amount of light and you will need it if it's pitch black outside.

Basic Tire Tools

In addition to a flashlight, there are a few other must have tire tools every vehicle should have in the event you get a flat tire:

X-Type Lug Nut Wrench: This will help loosen the lug nuts.

2 ft. Pipe: This fits into the the lug nut wrench and makes it easier to remove the lug nuts

Wheel Chock: To prevent the vehicle from rolling forward.

Flat Head Screwdriver: This is to unscrew the hubcap

Hydraulic Floor Jack: To lift car up and replace spare

Inflated Spare Tire: After removing flat tire, the inflated spare can be installed

Good advise. Having a flashlight in your car is a real necessity. Good to have one handy and hope you never need it.

I have to agree with belliott - a flashlight can be a lifesaver changing a tire at night.

I also carry a plug kit to plug tires. If the tire is merely low, not completely flat, it can usually be fixed on the spot and driven to a source of compressed air.
